Graves / Pregnancy update

I just wanted to drop in and give an update and get some positive vibes for my journey into trying to conceive with thyroid issues. Thyroid background: diagnosed with Graves 8 years ago. Tried to manage it with anti thyroid meds but had RAI. 3 years later thyroid came back and was discovered during first attempt at IVF. Had second round of RAI and have been on the thyroid roller coaster for last 4 years.

So after a struggle this summer to beging ivf and up and down labs, my levels were finally cleared to move forward with IVF and things are going really well. I am 42, have been struggle with graves and fertility for 10 years and tomorrow we are finally harvesting eggs for ivf! Oh…. Andi only have one ovary. We are planning on harvesting 10 eggs and hopefully will transfer 2-3.

My journey is not over. Getting to this stage is just half the battle. My thyroid will continue to be at the center for all this to work. Just because I am responding doesn't mean the rest will be easy. But good news of any kind is always welcomed. I just hope my thyroid levels hold up long enough for a successful outcome.

Thank you to all who have been here for moral support. I truly believe that unless you have walked a mile in our shoes, you won't completely understand the struggles we have to face. Oh… IVF hormones make uncontrolled Graves look like fun times minus the racing heart and eye issues. I think my husband deserves an award for helping me manage these constant mood changes and body issues.
