New Graves Guy

Hello All,

Recently diagnosed with Graves and has RAI about two weeks ago. Wondered how long it might take to start feeling normal. Also, I know you all love the numbers, so here are mine before treatment:

T3 10.10
T4 2.92
TSH .005

Looking forward to your input and thank you!

New Graves Guy

Hello and welcome! Our forum here is a little different, as we are a 501©(3) charity, governed by a Board of Directors that sets our policy.

So with the recognition that we are all fellow patients here, not doctors, we shy away from giving medical advice or interpreting labs. A couple of general comments, though…

First, keep in mind that your actual lab results are only useful in the context of your lab's “normal” range. If you aren't getting hard copies of the labs from your doc's office, this is a good idea, so you can see the range for yourself.

Also, we have had a few members here who have recently had RAI and are keeping us posted on their results, so you might check through posts from the last few weeks to get an idea of how their journey has gone. Every patient is a little different, so there is no set answer as to how long it takes to get back to feeling “normal”, but it can certainly be helpful to read stories from others who have “been there, done that.”

Take care!
