swollen lymph nodes

My 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with Graves as well as GED a year and a half ago. She had a total thyroidectomy last October. Her numbers are currently normal and her eyes had been looking better. She has had a slight flare recently and the eyes, right one in particular, are swollen again. We're about to start a round of IV steroids but in the meantime a palpable lymph node has appeared at the base of her skull, one gland is visibly swollen and she has muscle tightness in her arm and back, all on her right side only. Has anyone heard of or experienced this?

swollen lymph nodes

Hello - We're all fellow patients here, and this isn't something that I am familiar with. I'm sorry that your daughter is dealing with this…on top of all the stress of going through the Graves' and TED diagnosis!

I would definitely suggest discussing with your daughter's endo or GP to rule out whether there is something else that is causing these symptoms. Hopefully, he/she can help pinpoint the cause – and get her some relief!
