1 week of 5mg Methimazole

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to provide you with an update, after 1 week of taking 5mg of Methimazole every morning.

I don't have side effects so far.

My palpitation and a little bit of tremor have disappeared.
I can feel my metabolism has slowed down a bit, since I'm not always hungry as I used to be.

I have a blood test exam to do in about 4 week, before I return to my endo.

I really hope to see some improvements in my free T4 and TSH level.

Shakira

1 week of 5mg Methimazole

Thanks for the update! Keep in mind that occasionally, patients will respond *very* quickly to methimazole, so be on the lookout for common symptoms of hypO, such as fatigue, joint pain, unexplained weight gain, constipation, dry skin, cold intolerance, and slow pulse.

If that happens, definitely contact your doctor's office and ask to have a current set of labs done.
